In mid-October, I traveled to Joshua tree to take macro pictures of the variety of cactuses, shrubs, and trees in the park. I find it amazing how much color and life thrives in a places that recieve only five inches of rain in a year. For many of my shots, I had to get down on the ground inches away from my subject to maximize my shallow depth of view. Since I was shooting on Ektar 100 film, I truly had to make every shot count.
